Bar Sections

Judicial Section

This section is exclusively for members of the SHRBA who are also members of the judiciary. The section holds an annual forum for judges to discuss issues and provide a professional ear about those things, which affect them.

Public Practice

This section is for members of the SHRBA who are engaged in the practice of law for city, state, and local government.

Private Practice

This section is for members of the SHRBA who are engaged primarily in private practice, many of whom work as solo practitioners.

Young Lawyers

This section is for members of the SHRBA who are under the age of 35 or who have been practicing law for 3 years or less. Young lawyers can join the Young Lawyers section and one additional section.

Law Students

This section is for SHRBA members who are pursuing law degrees at the various law schools in Hampton Roads. Law students are associate members of the SHRBA. This section is a great way for students to start the networking process as well as to seek mentors in different areas of law.
